Dale Eugene McCord, 73, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 10:29 A.M. Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. He was born on April 8, 1951, at Lakeview Hospital in Danville, IL, the son of Franklin Dale "Jake" and Eileen Virginia (Smock) McCord. He is survived by two sons, Eric McCord of Hoopeston, IL and Jason (Melia) McCord of Hoopeston, IL and three granddaughters, Delaney, Reagan, and Josey McCord. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gwen McCord; and infant sister, Jane Ann McCord. After graduating from East Lynn High School, Dale worked as a barber and at American Can. In 1977, he took over his dad's fuel truck route at Vermilion Service Company, later becoming Illini FS, which he did for 40 years. He loved his family, especially his granddaughters, who referred to him as "Paw Paw FS", taking them on golf cart rides and to their various activities.
