DANVILLE - Florence Ann Pankey, 94, passed peacefully at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, on Friday (June 28, 2024).A committal service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, at the Spring Hill Mausoleum Chapel, where she will be laid to rest in a niche beside her husband, Lowell.Florence was born Dec. 27, 1929, in Danville, to W.R. and Anna (Pacinkiewicz) Pierce. She attended Garfield Grade School and Danville High School, graduating in 1946.Florence married Lowell Dean Pankey on Feb. 17, 1952, and they lived in Sidell for 50 years. The two shared 58 years together before his passing on Dec. 25, 2010.She is survived by her daughter Marcia Beard of Portland, Ore.; two grandsons, Lucas Darr of Fairmount and Eamon Beard of Portland; a granddaughter, Molly Beard of Portland; a great-grandson, Landon Darr of Fairmount; and a son-in-law, James Darr of Fairmount.Florence was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Lowell; and a daughter, Melanie Ann Darr.Messages and memories may
