OAKWOOD - Robert "Bob" Allen, 85, of Oakwood passed away Saturday (June 22, 2024) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.He was born Aug. 14, 1938, in Homer, son of the late Ruth Allen.Bob married Mary Lou Holycross on Oct. 18, 1959, in Oakwood, and she survives.Also surviving are his daughters, Cindy (Jeff) Acton of Danville and Susan (Doug) Canfield of Fayetteville, Ark.; grandchildren, Katie (Derek) Davis, Kelly (Andrew) Kaufmann, Cole (Megan) Acton, Shane Canfield and Stephanie (Kurt) Stinnett; and four great-grandchildren, Liyah, Milo and Neil Kaufmann and Chandler Stinnett.Along with his mother, Bob was preceded in death by one daughter, Cheryl Lynn; and two sisters, Barbara and Patricia Allen.Bob attended and made many new friends at Muncie Baptist Church. He worked for Facilities & Services at the University of Illinois in steam distribution for 30 years.
